God, Please Send The Right One
I just got off the phone with my friend, Toni. We were talking about the importance of discerning who can do the work in the ministry and who God sends to do the work of the ministry. Leading a ministry that is separate from a particular church or denomination is so amazing, but one of my challenges is having the right people in the right place.
I have learned that those who God sends can see beyond the money. We can pay anybody to do anything and they can do it well, but that does not mean that they are the one God assigned to this ministry. I am listening for a certain understanding of how God operates when He calls someone to work with a ministry. It is different than in the secular world.
Yes, they can do the job and probably do it nicely. That is not the point. If that is why they are here, then they will move on to the highest bidder for the next project. I only want to work with those who are on Kingdom assignment from God to join this work.
This is very important when you don’t have a set salary to offer someone. They need to move more out of faith and obedience than on exchanging dollars for hours of their time. They need to see where we are going with their spiritual eyes. Only God can reveal this to them. This goes wayyyy beyond a resume and a client list.
The work that we are doing in this ministry is changing lives, bodies, hearts, minds and souls. It is not for the faint of heart. I know that this is not only true for my ministry, but any ministry. And, regardless of what happens over time, I believe that most ministries begin with the intention to serve God.
I am prayerful for the right people, with the right heart, and the right instruction from God. I’ll keep you updated. I know that God speaks to me and to the person He has assigned to this vision. I may be the main vessel, but He is sending others to be vessels for their portion of this crucial work.
